Choosing a colour to add interest to your rooms can be difficult. Unless you have a dominant colour which is repeated throughout your paint or wallpaper, you will often just want to choose your favourite. But what if your favourite colour is pink? Visions of sugar coated girly pinks spring to mind, but remember those at the opposite end of the scale too.

It is not uncommon these days to see a vivid, fuchsia pink teamed with stark black on items such as cushions and wallpaper. The two combine to present a stunning visual display, and this is a colour scheme which can be replicated with your rugs to great effect.

It is possible to buy plain pink rugs or those patterned with another colour too. Imagine a neutral room accessorised only with dramatic hot pink cushions and a fabulous matching rug – the result would be one all your guests will talk about!

Pale pastel pink has become popular in kitchens with many small electrical goods being sold in this colour. Why not add pink curtains, tea towels and a rug to consolidate the effect and brighten your surroundings even further.

Of course, when talking about using pink for interior design, it would be remiss not to mention its’ use in girls’ bedrooms. Perhaps the quintessential colour for the fairer sex, there are a plethora of pink rugs available to please every girl at every age. From sheepskin to shaggy, patterned or plain, it is easy to perk up any room with a pink rug!
