Choosing a rug is not easy – you need to ensure that you buy the correct one for each room in your house.

Floral design rugs do not have to be in pastel colours, and in fact can look striking in brilliantly bright hues. Place one in the centre of your main room for a fantastic focal point. If you want to add extra depth to your decor consider purchasing a carved rug. These have different lengths of pile to accentuate the design which is carved on them, and are fantastic if you have neutral decor in your house as they can add another dimension.

Think carefully as well about the kind of material you want your rug to be constructed from. Whether it be pure wool, man – made or a combination of the two, ensure that you choose one that will suit the environment in which you place it.
